Emma Alcott
BA Psych, MACP, RCC
From a young age, I have had a deep passion for the field of psychotherapy, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to walk alongside individuals as they navigate their unique paths.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. With over five years of experience in the social services field, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals of all ages, and I am especially passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults through trauma, substance use, anxiety, and depression.
My approach to counselling is rooted in a client-centred philosophy, where I believe that each individual is the expert on their own life. My role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where to explore and uncover strengths, fostering the internal ability to heal and grow. I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I look forward to the opportunity to support you in your journey of healing.
